The Canadian Film Institute’s African Film Festival of Ottawa (AFFO), the fifth edition of which would have been held near the end of this month, had to be shelved this year. However, by way of continuing to promote African cinema, the CFI team, along with AFFO’s lead programmer, Carleton University Film Studies Professor Aboubakar Sanogo, directs your attention to these five important African and African American film titles available on various streaming services.
