The Canadian Film Institute's 22nd season of Cafe EX continues with legendary Canadian experimental filmmaker and Governor General's Award winner, Mike Hoolboom. Hoolboom will be in Ottawa introduce and discuss his latest work, a 'compilation feature,' entitled 'Father Auditions.'

“A compilation feature in five parts: Leaving Church, Damaged, 27 Thoughts About My Dad, Rain, Buffalo Death Mask. While some of these orphans have enjoyed a life on their own, they have been brought together in a family choir. Each offers a take on paternity. A blend of found and unfound footages collect into daddy lookouts, though of course “father” could mean “mother,” or even a book that never ends, an arts festival that holds the golden bar, a friend with nothing but answers.” - Mike Hoolboom
