Peter Mettler is an award-winning filmmaker based in Toronto, who began making films as a teenager before attending Ryerson University to study cinema. In addition to writing and directing, Peter has also worked as a cinematographer on films of contemporaries such as Patricia Rozema, Bruce McDonald, and Atom Egoyan. Since the beginning of Peter’s career he has become known for working in a hybrid of experimental, documentary, and dramatic forms to create beautifully nuanced and visually stunning studies of his subjects. In addition to his work in film and photography, more recently Peter has collaborated with musicians, dancers, and other artists to perform immersive installations with live image-mixing technology.
