Don't SIESTA on a Wednesday.....FIESTA! 

The Canadian Film Institute is excited to announce the 22nd Annual Latin American Film Festival. Join the Latin community in launching a spectacular month long event. With over 16 Latin American countries in representation, it will be the hottest Latin event of 2018 hosted at the newly built Ottawa Art Gallery.

Don’t miss the outrageously fun launch to the Latin American Film Festival, FIESTA! 

Held in the highly anticipated Ottawa Art Gallery - Galerie d'art d'Ottawa, Fine Flowers centrepieces will bring the vibrancy of Latin America to the new space, alongside the Lilia Faulkner - Terra Art exhibit. 

FOOD & DRINK

Bienvenidos Latin Market is where you will find all your favorite traditional ingredients from Latin America. 

The family-run Latin food market is going to be serving up some of their most favourite traditional Latin American dishes. Fiesta goers will enjoy, pupusas revueltas, maria luisa with poleada, buns of pan chapin blando, and empanadas.

A cash-bar with wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages will help you wash down the yummmm. 

ENTERTAINMENT

Mendez Entertainment hosts one of the Ottawa’s staple Latin radio shows, Barrio Latino. 

FIESTA is excited to have DJ Mendez spin tracks from all across Latin America and keep the dance floor caliente.

FIESTA attendees will enjoy live performances from: 

* Corinne Tardieu & Victor Alexis - Professional Salsa, Bachata and Hustle champions from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

* Julie-Anne Codaire - Two-time world champion in Bachata and two-time vice-champion in Salsa based in the National Capital Region. 

* Centro Cultural Dendê do Recife - Ottawa’s most established group in the Afro-Brazilian art of capoeira and folkloric Brazilian dances. 

* Isis Couture - Latin American drag queen, with one of the hottest shows in the Nation’s Capital, delivering a show-stopping performance.

AFTER-PARTY

The party doesn't end at 11PM, the FIESTA LATINA will continue into the evening at Mercury Lounge and all FIESTA attendees get free entry from 11PM to 12AM.
